In fact, a country’s healthcare infrastructure and its use are essential indicators of human growth.

Activities to fight against Covid-19

The moment WHO declared Covid-19 a Pandemic in March-20, the company started a massive awareness campaign in the nearby areas of Bhadla Solar Park. Saurya Urja has constantly reached out to people in need including local habitants, migrant labourers, contractors and people associated with the company.

Some activities are mentioned below:

Awareness campaign for COVID-19:
From placing banners to pasting posters, to door-to-door awareness campaigns, the company has taken several initiatives to educate the people about the ongoing pandemic

Food distribution to the unprivileged:
During the first lockdown, the company supplied ‘Dry Ration,’ which included 10 kg whole wheat flour, 2 kg pulses, and 4 pieces of soap to about 1000 families in five revenue villages surrounding the Bhadla Solar Park.

Aid for migrant labours:
138 labour families, including children, were deprived of food and water. During the lockdown, the company provided rations for around two months and assisted them in obtaining clean water and other necessities.

The country is experiencing an Oxygen Crisis during the second wave of COVID-19. To address this issue, the Company is assisting the Government of Rajasthan by supplying an oxygen generation plant, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, pulse oximeters, and thermal guns to the Community Health Center (CHC) in Bikaner’s Lunkaransar Tehsil.

Healthcare on Wheels
Saurya Urja has taken village healthcare to the next level by travelling door-to-door, both for people and cattle, to reach out to the community on a personal basis.
Medical Health Camps

Since 2017, the company has been arranging medical health camps. More than 700 health camps for the people and the livestock have been held to date. Currently, the company is holding health camps in 50 villages in Jodhpur and three villages in Bikaner.

Mobile Medical Units (MMUs)

Since March 1, 2021, the company has brought healthcare to the doorsteps of individuals living in 50 villages in the Bap Tehsil of Jodhpur District, in order to expand the reach of health programmes. This programme is supported by two Mobile Medical Units.

Through these MMUs, the community has been facilitated with the following:

  • Free doctor’s consultation
  • Free distribution of medicines
  • Basic diagnostic tests
  • Referral to other healthcare facilities
  • Information and awareness material on rights and entitlements, government social security schemes and health programmes is also provided.
  • Each Mobile Medical Unit has one qualified MBBS Doctor, one nursing staff, one pharmacist, and one driver to ensure accurate safety. Every MMU is outfitted with the most up-to-date medical technology as well as a GPS system.
Mobile Veterinary Unit (Pashu Rath Yojana)

Animals are extremely important to the villagers for both commercial and domestic purposes. Since August 1, 2020, the company has held one animal husbandry health check-up and treatment camp in each of 50 communities. The Pashu Rath Yojana has provided the community with free health checks, free medicine, and referral services for their cattle.

Anganvadi Development

In rural locations, an Anganvadi provides care and assistance to mothers and small children. In the Bap Tehsil, Saurya Urja has built infrastructure in three anganvadis. Vaccination drives for pregnant women and newborns have been conducted with rigour by the company. Saurya Urja has also donated material in the Anganvadis near its Solar Park over time.
